Google has unveiled Gemini 3.1 Pro, an upgraded core model designed to handle complex reasoning tasks where “a simple answer isn’t enough.” The release, as noted in blog.google, builds on last week’s Gemini 3 Deep Think update and represents a significant boost in core intelligence across Google’s AI ecosystem. Gemini 3.1 Pro is now rolling out in preview across developer tools, enterprise platforms, and consumer apps.
On the ARC-AGI-2 benchmark — which measures a model’s ability to solve entirely new logic patterns — Gemini 3.1 Pro achieved a verified score of 77.1%, more than doubling the reasoning performance of Gemini 3 Pro. Google positions the improvement as a foundational leap in structured problem-solving, particularly for scientific research, engineering challenges, and complex data synthesis.
The model is designed to make advanced reasoning practical for real-world workflows. Google highlighted capabilities such as generating website-ready animated SVGs directly from text prompts, producing scalable, lightweight code-based animations instead of traditional video. Gemini 3.1 Pro is also intended to enhance tasks like visual explanations, data integration and creative project execution.
Gemini 3.1 Pro is available in preview for developers through the Gemini API in Google AI Studio, Gemini CLI, Android Studio, and Google’s agentic development platform Antigravity. Enterprises can access it via Vertex AI and Gemini Enterprise, while consumers will see it inside the Gemini app and NotebookLM, with higher usage limits for AI Pro and Ultra subscribers. Google says it plans to refine the model further — especially for agentic workflows — before a broader general release.
