Apple Plans to Replace Siri’s Interface with a Conversational Chatbot

Apple is reportedly preparing its most significant update to Siri since the assistant’s debut in 2011, transforming it into a full-fledged AI chatbot experience with the release of iOS 27 and macOS 27. According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, the new system—internally code-named “Campos”—will replace Siri’s existing interface with a conversational, chatbot-style interaction model similar to ChatGPT, marking Apple’s clearest entry yet into the generative AI race.

Unlike previous Siri iterations, the new chatbot-powered assistant will support continuous conversations, both via text and voice, addressing long-standing complaints about Siri’s fragmented interactions.
