Happy Billionaire Dance Garners Giggles from Tech World
Elon Musk has had a few days lately when he probably didn’t feel much like partying. Remember the broken window at the reveal of the Tesla truck? That didn’t go quite as planned.
But Matt Novak with gizmodo.com has a great article about a much happier Musk is with the Tesla, demonstrating his glee by getting down in China at a recent reveal. Musk was near Shanghai to celebrate the opening of a new multi-billion dollar factory, the first factory outside the U.S. Musk got so wrapped up in the moment that he shed his jacket when the music, “More Than You Know” by Axwell Ingrosso, got going.
Like the famously awkward character Elaine on the TV comedy Seinfeld, Musk showed his awkwardness in all its glory.
Just remember, as long as he’s dancing, he’s not accusing anyone of being a pedophile and consequently being sued (though he won the case.) Or running over child-sized signs in a new cybertruck.
According to forbes.com, Musk had good reasons to be happy when Tesla’s share price spiked 5% that day and surpassed $500 for the first time. Musk joked on Twitter that he was trying to boost his follower count on Pornhub, marketwatch.com reported.
Maybe Musk’s celebrity girlfriend singer Grimes, aka Claire Boucher, can take him aside and teach him some moves one of these days. She revealed that he may actually have earned his rep for “Dad” moves, because she posted a topless photo on Twitter January 15th of herself with a fetus image superimposed on what looks like a baby bump. She claimed in the post that she was “knocked up.”
For now, Musk is continuing a long tradition of tech founders awkwardly dancing at launch events, like this Windows 95 launch.
If you’re a Happy Billionaire and you know it, clap your hands. Rock on, you can afford the embarrassment.
