Silverside AI Delivers 110 Localized Versions of Coke’s Holiday Ad in Record Time

Coca-Cola’s holiday campaign this year embraces the transformative power of AI with an updated version of its iconic “Holidays Are Coming” ad, created by Silverside AI, an innovation lab within the agency Pereira O’Dell. This modern AI-driven iteration nods to the original while making the campaign more personalized and globally relevant. The broader holiday campaign also includes Coca-Cola’s Christmas Truck Tour, the second annual “The World Needs More Santas” ad, and a festive AI-powered digital experience that allows users to create personalized snow globe animations.

As noted in adweek.com, Silverside AI employed generative AI tools like Stable Diffusion, DALL-E, and ChatGPT to produce the campaign, reimagining Coca-Cola’s Christmas Truck with speed and flexibility. The use of AI enabled the team to rapidly visualize ideas, generating a rough draft within just three days of meeting with the client. The iterative and collaborative process allowed for near-daily updates, transforming the traditional timeline of creative development and enhancing client engagement.

AI also helped Silverside AI address unexpected challenges, such as a late-stage request for customized versions of the ad for different cities and global markets. Leveraging AI’s speed and adaptability, the team delivered 110 versions, including 27 localized edits featuring unique skylines for key markets, in just a few days. Despite these advancements, AI presented challenges, such as limitations in precision and control during post-production, which required animators to fine-tune the visuals to align with Coca-Cola’s brand identity.

The campaign exemplifies how AI can enhance creativity by reducing production barriers, enabling more ideas to come to life. While technology accelerated the workflow and simplified project management tasks, creatives like Silverside AI’s PJ Pereira emphasized that the value of creativity has never been more important.
