Synyi AI Clinic Pairs Autonomous Diagnosis With Human Oversight

Shanghai-based Synyi AI has launched the world’s first AI-powered clinic in Saudi Arabia’s Al-Ahsa region, partnering with Almoosa Health Group for a pilot program that began in April 2025. At the heart of the clinic is “Dr. Hua,” an AI system capable of diagnosing and prescribing treatments through natural, human-like interactions. While the AI operates autonomously, each treatment plan is reviewed by a human doctor to ensure clinical accuracy before being finalized.

Patients interact with Dr. Hua via a tablet interface, answering symptom-related questions and submitting diagnostic images like X-rays or cardiograms. Dr. Hua then formulates a treatment plan, which is approved by a human doctor without direct patient interaction. This innovative hybrid model, as reported in newsbytesapp.com, combines the efficiency and speed of AI with the essential oversight of human medical professionals.

Synyi AI reports a remarkable diagnostic error rate of under 0.3%, according to CEO Zhang Shaodian. Currently, the clinic focuses solely on respiratory conditions such as asthma and pharyngitis but plans to expand to 50 diseases across respiratory, gastrointestinal and dermatological categories within a year. The service remains free during the trial phase while the company compiles data for government approval.

Founded in 2016 and backed by Tencent and other prominent investors, Synyi AI has partnered with over 800 institutions in China. Its expansion into Saudi Arabia marks its first international venture, with plans underway to open more AI clinics in the region. The move positions Synyi AI at the forefront of a healthcare transformation powered by artificial intelligence.
