NVIDIA Redefines AI Affordability with the Jetson Orin Nano Super’s Enhanced Capabilities

NVIDIA has unveiled the Jetson Orin Nano Super Developer Kit, a compact generative AI supercomputer that offers improved performance and affordability for developers, hobbyists and students. Priced at $249, down from $499, the kit delivers a 1.7x boost in generative AI inference performance, a 70% increase in processing power to 67 INT8 TOPS, and a 50% rise in memory bandwidth to 102GB/s compared to its predecessor. This makes it an ideal platform for developing chatbots, visual AI agents, and robotics applications.

The new Jetson Orin Nano Super, as noted in blogs.nvidia.com, also benefits existing users of the Jetson Orin Nano Developer Kit through software updates that enhance generative AI performance. Tailored for those exploring generative AI, robotics, or computer vision, the platform supports the shift from task-specific models to foundation models, enabling developers to transform innovative ideas into reality.

Equipped with an NVIDIA Ampere GPU and a 6-core Arm CPU, the Jetson Orin Nano Super supports concurrent AI application pipelines and up to four cameras with higher resolution and frame rates. It includes tools like the NVIDIA TAO Toolkit for fine-tuning AI models, NVIDIA Omniverse Replicator for synthetic data generation, and access to NVIDIA’s AI ecosystems such as Isaac for robotics and Metropolis for vision AI, reducing development time and enhancing capabilities.

Jetson’s extensive ecosystem offers robust support through its AI lab, developer community, and partnerships, which provide additional tools, software, and hardware solutions. The software updates boosting generative AI performance are also available for the Jetson Orin NX and Orin Nano series, enabling existing users to unlock the full potential of their systems through a JetPack SDK upgrade.
